NOTE TO F.O.F.F. (Friends of Feffie’s
Feathers):
We’ve had a notice on the site for a while indicating
that our parent birds were “taking a richly deserved
vacation,” and that while they were on hiatus, we would
be happy to make references to other excellent breeders. All
that remains true.
However, the “vacation” is turning into a world-class
“walkabout,” and we wanted to let our many friends
know that. Right now we, along with the flock, are resting
from the rewarding—but considerable—demands of parrothood.
We’re taking the opportunity to do some things we simply
haven’t been able to do since the inception of Feffie’s
Feathers over ten years ago, including some traveling (like
a recent trip to see the amazing parrot collection at Loro
Parque in the Canary Islands, for instance). Such things are
just not possible given the demands of raising our much-loved
clutches.
We’re not sure when, or even if, we’ll be doing
nest duty again, and we won’t disappoint our friends
of the unfeathered variety by promising a specific time we’re
not at all sure about. At this point any “return date”
would be wildly speculative and (no doubt) wildly inaccurate.
In the words of Scott Adams in Dilbert, “I love deadlines.
I especially love the swooshing sound they make as they go
flying by.” :)
So. . . enjoy the information and links available on the
site, which will remain up and running. Our toys are still
available for sale. We will be adding new ones as creativity
strikes.
Finally, please accept our heartfelt thanks for every recommendation
that may have brought a new friend to our site today, and
for every good experience that may have brought an old friend
back again. And most of all, thanks to our wonderful family
of parronts who continue to love the fids we’ve so lovingly
raised.
