Did
they really put rocks in that basket? Yes. Do
they really want me to buy a basket of rocks? Not particularly.
If you have a basket of rocks at home, or can assemble one,
yours will be fine. However, believe it or not, your baby
should
have a basket of rocks. In the wild, parrots spend most
of their time foraging. In captivity, we need to simulate
the natural environment as closely as we can.
Of all the foraging toys we have bought and made, this one
is our flock's favorite. Here's what you do:

Get a basket (natural wicker - no varnish.)
- Put favored foods in the bottom (red peppers, Nutriberries,
etc.)
- Put (clean) rocks on top of the food.
- Put brightly colored foot toys on top of the rocks.
Foraging toys are very
important, so we sell our rock baskets for $5.00 - roughly
what it costs us to assemble them. If you have rocks
at your house don't feel obligated to buy one. Otherwise,
do
feel obligated. Your baby will thank you.
